Came across this stamp in a glassine marked 103 $11,500. I know the stamp is not worth that, Any Ideas on the stamp? Country?

Hi, It's not a cinderella. It's a Swiss postage stamp, SG 190 from 1900.

It's Scott #100 not #103 which was not issued and is rare and expensive.

Scott #103 has lined instead of solid value figures.

I have a Scott WW catalog from about 30 years ago that lists the #103 at $6500 (used); on the other hand that same Scott catalog from 1983 shows the Scott #100 at $14 used.

I'm sure someone with a current WW catalog can share what the Scott #100 is valued at today.

The two other stamps of this series: 0.05 and 0.10 Swiss Francs.

The whole set can be found at Delcampe for less than 2 US$...
Catalogs are useful for locating stamps, but not for actual prices...
