I actually got a small archaeology job this week in Vermont. The soil is completely dried out. It's a pain to dig, but screens well. It's still hard as the dickens and I live off of Gatorade/Powerade. Working out of town puts a crimp into stamp related activities, but if we get storms today maybe I'll visit the local antique stores to look for postcards. Otherwise, I can do computer work for upcoming auctions if I'm not feeling dead to the world.
i am not putting stamps aside entirely..that just wouldn't be me..i still read the SCF and surf the net for bargains..but the number 1 priority during this heat wave ...is to survive !!
I noticed posts from people in Minnesota....an 86 year old woman my wife kind of keeps an eye on..is coming your way..There is an International Convention of Trentini at Mountain Iron July 20-22.Its for people from the province of Trento in Northern Italy and other Tyroleans...this woman is something else..she attends the conventions every year where ever in the U.S. or Canada they hold them !!
Even 200 KM (130 miles) north of Toronto, we got (35C)95F in the shade and it is supposed to be the same again today. The humidity factor is around 40C (104F)
Here in Vienna VA was at least 100F (38C) earlier today, but cooling off now to 94F (34C). But air conditioning is working so not too worried about the stamps.
