Duplex Cancel 1 - Solved
Boston, Mass - Wesson Time on Bottom Duplex Cancel on Scott 184

The killer looks like a normal-ish football cancel. The Dial (CDS) looks more like a machine cancel than a duplex. Is it a duplex?

Duplex Cancel 2
Pine City, MN Cancel on Scott U165 (white paper I think) with star in circle for killer.

Just another fancy killer? What type of duplex is this?

Duplex Cancel 3 - Solved
Norfolk, VA, "Military" Duplex posted at the US Naval Training Station on Scott 405 I think, partially separated booklet pair.

Why just plain old "Military"? Why not "Norfolk, US Naval Sta." or some such thing?

"Duplex" Cancel 4
Trepeleau, WI cancel on Scott UX14 postal card.

A lovely cancel from a beautiful small town in Wisconsin where I used to fish one summer. I am guessing this is not really a duplex, but a CDS stamp and cork impression for a killer.

Duplex Cancel 5
Durand, WI cancel on Scott UX5 with a cross formée killer.

This is not a true color image, as fiddled with it to bring the cancel out a bit more. The cancel ink is a lovely lavender color. Is this another special duplex cancel?

Thanks guys for sifting through my riddles. They have kept me up rather late. Time for bed.

Thanks for the bump smauggie. Missed this the first time around.
I've been noticing fancy cancels lately and here are two I think are duplexes.
Locations unknown but the first is, I believe a 184 with a cross.

and a #207 with a maltese cross in a circle. Possible location in Arkansas?

The top one is called a Wesson Time on Bottom (or TOB), yes duplex, rather common but collectable.

As it relates to your Duplex Cancel No. 3 (Norfolk, VA, Military Br.) the highlighted portion of this information may be interesting to read, although it gives little insight into the actual usage:
