Been searching forever, Michael It 686, Unificato It 547, Sassone it547ns.....The problem is the red overprint/cancel/?. No record of it in Scott. Found it in Israel, was told it was "Top Secret" Looks like a "Feather in a Hat." I'm no expert so I'm reaching out to the community. Here they are.......

Odd that an ovpt would be smack in the middle of 2 stamps but the trailing ribbon looks to big for just 1 anyway. I have no help but always intereted especially in top secret missions!

The Feathered hat is from the "BERSAGLIERI" troops in Italy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bersaglieri

Could be some kind of elite forces emblem from that group, which was an elite force unto it's self

Hi jshallow.

Try this site. A fairly comprehensive Italian issues catalogue.
I haven't had more than a quick look, but it might be worth checking out.

Good luck

Hi jshallow,

Here is another link for a site that has links to lots of on-line catalogues and philatelic information.
The Italian catalogue I posted is in there, but the site may be useful generally, so here it is.....
