I think they are referred to as Helicopter Flight Covers. They are a specialty by themselves.

Since the cover didn't use an airmail rate, nor an airmail stamp, I think it becomes a naval cover by default. However, purists would argue that there was no domestic airmail rate after May 1, 1977. I give up.

The practice there was to carry the covers in the camera helicopter covering the race, so I have a problem calling either one. I personally would refer to it as an event cover.
