I've heard rumors that the USPS is ending the sales of imperforate uncut press sheets. But I have not been able to verify this. Does anyone have more information?
I don't think there has been any official release on the matter. The USPS became concerned that they were doing something along the lines of what they were criticized for doing with the upright inverted Jenny -- creating artificial rarities. They could address this by just printing a larger number of the no die cut press sheets. But for now, they seem to be doing nothing, unsure of themselves.
The last official word I heard is that there will be no more press sheets without die-cuts this year. Whether the USPS spokesperson meant fiscal year or calendar year is unclear.
