While looking through a bunch of these type of stamps I noticed the nice cancel on this one. If you can't read what it's says is, "Stamp collecting is a hobby for a lifetime." I thought I would share this with everyone. OK now does any one else have a cancel related to stamp collecting, if you do please post and share.

Nice slogan cancel. I'll have to look, as I know I have some others around with similar promotions. Also, don't forget October is National Stamp Collecting Month.

I have seen this sort of cancel among Dad's stuff, but never so neatly placed!
That is cool. Would make a nice addition to a stamp display or home-made album
cover... Something like that. It's too perfect not to display somehow.

Too bad it isn't the correct shape to become an avitar within the forum here.
That would be a neat application for it.

I agree 100% with Timbres - Cancellations

I pay attention. Heck for low value stamps, I put the cancelled one in the spot. IT has a history - the Mint one doesn't.

EDIT - What really blippings me off the most is when the lots include a mint and a used example of each of the cheapies.

Here are a couple of older "stamp collecting" slogan postmarks which go along with the theme of this post ... the first one is even on a meter (ugh!):

I know it's an old post, but I just found an 2004 slogan cancel for stamp collecting ... "Begin an Adventure of Giant Proportions: Collect Stamps":
