Has anyone else made the resolution not to purchase any new items until all stamps and covers are catalogued and mounted in albums?

I never said all.

I was too low by about 10 on my amount of albums...i have 3 Netherlands albums and 4 Netherlands cover albums, 1 Guatemala album and 6 cover and postcard albums of Guatemala... 1 U.S. album and 4 U.S. Cover albums,, 2 Canada albums, 2 Argentina albums and still only 1 Argentine cover album but its filling fast...9 Scott International albums to 1969...2 U.S. Precancel albums...we are not talking red boxes of duplicates here or computer paper boxes and plastic totes full of stamps...i wish I could let go..but I have that feeling that I paid SOMETHING for them and hate to toss them..when I find the right collectors we can gnaw away at them !

Ok to start I have 3 stockbooks 16 pages
- 2 Minkus Europa albums that finish in 1978
- 4 binders of Europa pages till 2005 that I made using Albumeasy
- 1 binder of self made pages for my Expo 67, tall ships and paintings collections
- 1 Lindner Greenland album till 1998 + 1 binder of self made pages to complete
- 1 Schaubek Poland album till 1979 (just for souvenir sheets) + 4 binders of pages for stamps that I printed
- 1 Greenland binder of pages that I print
- 1 First day cover album for tall ships
- And almost forgot a small stockbook fill with Brazil stamps
- I also have 2 Canada albums and Worldwide album respectively from the 70's and 60's that I have not used for 25 years.

Once in while I sell a collection because I don't want to accumulate till i'm a very old. I remember an advertising telling the story of a man who bought stamps all his life and now after filling a whole warehouse he decide to sell. The man is about 85 years old. If I don't buy for or look at a collection for months it's a good candidate to go for sale.

Picture is worth 1000 words.

76 binders of various sizes for worldwide (mostly homemade pages)
3 Harris Albums Canada
2 Binders & 1 stock book Canada '67 Definitives
4 Stanley Gibbons albums: Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and Switzerland
2 Minkus: Austria and Scandinavia
4 stock books for Omnibus Issues
1 Stock Book for Canadian perfins
1 Stock Book for Canadian precancels
12 Albums for Canadian FDCs from 1973 on. Misc. covers elsewhere.
1 trunk (this is my elsewhere) containing mostly supplies but other stuff as well.

And then there was the young grandson who asked, "Gee grandpa. How much have you spent on all these stamps?"
Grandpa replied, "It must be thousands by now."
"Gosh," was the response. "How much are they worth now?"
After some thought, Grandpa replied, "Why, by now they must be worth ... Hundreds!"

My philatelic new year's resolution is to put a hold on all stamp acquisition (aside from trades) until I get some serious progress made on what I already have.

Lost the one that bid the more often on my auctions.

There, there Daniel.

It will be temporary. Besides, I see Rod has taken my place as first bidder in your latest auction (and a tempting one it is).

Besides, I am also in the process of moving, which will through throw my philatelic habits out of whack for a while.

Oh - and my collection/accumulation still isn't worth as much as "the guy" with a 5" x 9" pocket stockbook with 27 stamps worth a total of $1,000,000+.

We're talking about Bobgggg, of course.

I just stumbled upon this thread (plus the older one) and really enjoyed reading everyone's posts. As for me I have the following:

5x Red Binders of Vario Plus pages for my South Korea collection
4x White Ace Albums for my U.S. Commemorative singles and plate blocks
3x Brown Binders of Vario Plus pages for my British Commonwealth collection
2x Blue Binders of Vario Plus pages for my U.S. sheet collection
2x Lighthouse stockbooks for my U.S. Precancels
1x Album for my U.S. Bureau Precancel collection

Sometime in November I intend on ordering the Scott Specialty Album kit for South Korea and will do an overhaul moving my collection from vario pages over to mounts on album pages. With the vacant red binders with vario plus pages I'll probably start a new country or region collection. I'm tempted to start on something South America or Africa related...not sure. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

So that's the current state of my collection...

Hehe, I think my count has doubled. I really did follow through (somewhat) on my pledge of getting them in the album.
