I was looking thru some postcards and I came across this one which shows Mt. Rushmore being built. Front  Back  Were there any stamps made with Mt Rushmore as the topic? Lucky |

The fact that is was still in the process of being built was what caught my eye. It looks like they have booms (similar to a boom truck minus the truck) through the tops of the heads that they could use to hang off of to work on the faces. |

Great postcard. It's amazing what can be done by skilled craftsman. I pickup Mount Rushmore items for my Lincoln collection. I'll have to see what FDC's I have tucked away. |

Nice link wt1. I checked it out and noticed that all of their eyes are black. The picture that you posted shows how the eyes were carved out except for a piece that was left to add dimension. I wonder what they used for the black of the eye?
By the way Russ, I laughed myself silly when I saw your scan. Comedy!

Actually there is one other question I have about this Post Card. When you look at the front of the card and then turn it over the other side is printed upside down. Does this happen very often?  Lucky |
