okay 1868 that's cool love those stamps, if they were not BOB you would pay through the nose for them. Doesn't make sense.

What's a lear of mustard?

Well, the word has to refer to a quantity of mustard. The second item is Bbl which is barrel. I am not so sure that it says 'lear' . The third letter seems to be an "s". Compare it to the "s" in sugar in the second item.

So these are not on paper but didn't want to start a new post. Scary as I'm really startin to like these and the uses are endless compared to Canada. Have to agree with JH they should be worth far more as I'm sure numbers printed were far less.

Here's one with a little history associated with it. The Notary, George L. Otis, was born in Homer, New York in 1829. He arrived in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1855 and established himself as one of the top attorneys in the Minnesota Territory. He was a member of the Minnesota state house of representatives (1857-58), the Minnesota senate (1866), the Mayor of St. Paul (1867-68), and an unsuccessful candidate for Governor in 1869. He died in 1882. Otis' law firm, now named Moore, Costello & Hart, is the only law firm in Minnesota that can trace its roots back to the state's territorial period.

So Question. Do these qualify? I've these on the same page, no, not on page or cover or whatever. saying they're watermarked and no, I've yet to "explore that", but the first has a lot of what I've seen called foxing. or staining. Does it benefit from a short bath in some sort of mild bleaching agent to kill any ? or do I just leave it alone? Thanks all.
