I rather doubt that there was more than one printing of the Sino-Soviet Friendship stamps. After all, these were commemoratives. Commemoratives usually only have the one print run.

The Chinese definitives seem to be rather better served as far as printing variations are concerned: you only have to look at Chan's listings of some of the pre-1949 types to see that. After all, he takes 897 pages to cover China to 1949!

tonmacg, the reprints were not commemoratives in that sense. They were printed purely for the benefit of collectors. In one case, there were at least two printings of the reprints.

Sorry about the big black smear down the middle. It would have been worse if I'd taken a sample from either end of the book.

Jimjamtwo, there would have been the 1950 initial printing of the Sino-Soviet stamp, and a later (1954-5?) printing, but I'd expect that would be all.
