A LOT of great suggestions!

My 1-2 day projects always end up taking 1-2 years, if not 10-20 years!

Whilst I agree with all previous posts, I do have another suggestion.

When you come across any Flag stamps, don't scan them or post them up here.
Just send them straight to me, you have my address.
Time saved...at least two hours a week. That's 104 hours a year, and just think what you can do with an extra 4 days and 8 hours !

Yes, you can fulfil at least two of those projects the others wrote about ! [khj excepted]

Then you can send all the Cinderellas you come across to Rod and myself, again saving much time scanning and posting up here with needless questions and auctions
Another 4 days saved.
That's a whole week out of the year I have just saved you.
Just think what you can do with that

Now say thanks.

Londonbus1....

Or not

I know exactly what you mean. There are so much I would like to collect and to know about stamps, ending up with getting a lot of half-finished projects. For example, I started up with sorting through my posthorns last year, I'm still not finished and new posthorns are finding their way home to me all the time. I have also a big pile of New Zealand stamps I have been meaning to put into a collection, soon one year anniversary for those too.

But I still enjoy the ride, so why complain? Besides, wouldn't it be sad if you sat down with your stamps one day, only to discover that there was nothing to do with them?

You are a bit cynical. Our friend is seeking for help and we contribute allot. Let him meditate and organise so he can enjoy again this beautiful hobby to his and our benefit.

Londonbus, since this is the second time I've heard of these "Flag Stamps" What is it you are referring too? Pardon my ignorance if it's a well known SCF fact...I just have to ask.

Timbres,

I think Jeff will understand my post. We have this little banter from time to time. No harm intended and ,I hope, none taken.

Also, I just love his posts and have to answer...I cannot hold back

Londonbus1....needs to calm down a little.

I think the reason I "stuck" to US Used was because my brother did them and mint stamps would just melt in the book in Florida (my parents never ran the AC)

Sadly I have no list. Flags as a Thematic will never be completed. And as I collect Mint and Used, Plate number coils, Traffic Light blocks, covers, cards,Postal Stationery,Tete-Beche pairs,Cinderellas with Flags,Cigarette Cards,Silks, and more, I will never get to even halfway

But I'll have a lot of fun trying.

If you come across any Flags, Lux, just post them in the Flags Thread

Thanks for asking too, you are a gem.

I have read somewhere that to become a Master at something (anything) it always takes 10,000 hours of practice, 8,000 to be Good (on that scale) and 4,000 hours in order to be able to teach. Where are you?

Perspective helps sometimes.

(I think I may be in the 3,000 hour area if I count sitting there staring at the soaking bowl. )

Also, as others have mentioned in different ways, it is good to learn to appreciate what you have while you have it.

I just got plopped from Vancouver BC to Oakdale Louisiana on business - what is the first think I do at the motel? Log on this forum, and then check my auction bids on ebay and Wensy. Am I a candidate for Stampaholics Annomonous?

EDIT: corrected spelling of La.
