"DL Auction" was a prefix I was using to more easily identify my auctions.

Yes, I was inspired by that idea. I will be using my handle in the title of my auction threads.

I for one, am guilty as charged.....I raced to the 50 mile marker
in order to sell.....i posted a lot of my stamps to determine some sales value and future interest. I labored over NOT violating rules about selling/buying etc. and hoped that I would get the casual inquiry about selling before I actually reached 50......BUT.......something happened along the way....I took an actual interest in some of the specific differences that I found in stamps that I have, I have a keen interest in the needle in the haystack finds that we all hope for and I have decided to renew my collection before I dump all of my extras on the market. As much as I, as I assume many others here...need the money........the personal satisfaction I get from saying that I am an active phlatelist........."priceless"......thank you all for helping me see the light.
By the way......considering that I haven't seen a sale yet that wasnt for 3-4 pages of stamps for 2-3 dollars....am I missing something.....?

OK, the "Last 100" pages should now have the entire BST section eliminated. Please let me know if you see any bugs.

Looks good...I may start to use that feature again. I stopped using it quite some time ago, in favor of the "Active" link, but it is a nice, quick snapshot.

Thanks.

Funny how some people who have complained about more recent members posting auctions also do so themselves! Looks like an awful lot of getting worked up over very little to me, the rules are there (until they change) for all to see, and if people want to trade a few stamps for a few pounds/dollars/yen or whatever then surely that is in the spirit of a stamp club? I posted my first auction the other day after many contributions to discussions and posts of my own, the reason I joined up was to take part, not just to sell. Just assumed that no-one would object, but hey.
Interesting to see the recent changes to exclude the auctions from the active list, if this was such a big concern to some why wasn't it suggested before??

DavidR I agree with you...i come here for a bit of relaxation..if something irritates me I usually leave it alone..there are many areas of interest here..not just one..if people live and let live it will continue to be a great site !!

Just another general question about SCF's Auction site, for future reference. Is there a accepted number of Auction posts a Member should be running at the same/one time?

P.S.
Honest, no offense to any seller intended.

Wow this got interesting . I've built my own little website with a few links and pics but unless you've written code I don't think the masses realize how much is involved for minor never mind major changes to a website. One character out of place and the whole thing falls.
In the months I've been here I have only seen "admin" jump in once or twice which is admirable that he/ she doesn't need to.
I for one believe that although we don't want this to be a selling website that voluntarily those who sell should figure a way to donate/ support the site. As many said this is a virtual stamp club and most clubs have dues. 250 post is a respectable number and shows your commitment to the site but what about 100 post and $xx donation? With the power of this site with google searches once you do not need post to buy, the buying traffic will come and those that want to sell will be able to reach far more buyers thus getting more $ per auction. Some of the members here sell some of the finest quality stamps on the market yet do so through other means due to traffic but in time I believe you will see this being the best of the best in knowledge , information and opportunities. Just remember what the C in SCF stands for and all should be well.

Hello everybody, I am perfectly happy with this forum regardless of where the auction part is.I too joined this forum to learn more about the hobby and to get help identifying some of my things. I have been able to learn as lot in the time I have been a member of this forum. The auction threads did not get in my way t all and I saw them as a way for me t help build my collection from people I trust. I have over 300 posts and have yet to post an auction but plan to when the new auction site opens. This forum is more than a forum to me. it has become the stamp club I can't go to here. I am no longer able to drive due to an eye disease and the nearest stamp club to me is 25 miles away. Ifeel like I have all the benefits of a stamp clubhere, gaining knowledge, interaction with like minded people as well as a chance to share my collecting interest with others. The buying and selling is just a bonus. I am happy with this forum and plan to be here for the long haul.I also want everybody to know how much I appreciate all the help I have been given and as my knowledge grows I hope to be able to eventualy help others as I have been helped.
Thanks
david

This could be a real money-spinner for both sellers and the SCF!

The whole process might take a year or more to fully take hold but I for one enjoy being part of an exciting new endeavor. I'll buy 50,000 shares at 2 cents just so when SCF is globally traded I can retire. Seriously though I believe the person/ people behind the scenes , moderators, supporters and all members new and old should be extremely proud of what we have in this community.

I don't want to say much about what is better or not with the auction part of the forum (there is really one? ) as I'm not involved due to my no. of posts. I don't mind about the politic for selling, if it's 250/50 or stays still as I'm not here to sell or buy but just to enjoy and read the posts, learning new things... As I've said many times, I'm more an observer, so this is why even if I'm here for a good period, I'm writing only if there is an information I know and can help the others. I'm always thinking that quality is better than quantity.
I think many are like me: let the real professionals to write and enjoy the forum. And here I was thinking... what if some of those people, that are in the phase of learning, want to sell what they accumulate? It will take years to do so if the lower limit will be 250.
On the other hand... I want to congratulate the Admin for the "Last 100" change , it's not likely to see someone reacting so promptly to a request. That's great!
