It would cut down on shipping drastically if the squares were removed from the album pages.
They are really heavy duty manilla type paper. I think they are Scott International pages.
The 'back' of each page has places for world stamps. The creator of this mass flipped the
pages over and used colored pen to divide each page into 8 squares.

I would do that for someone in a buy or trade situation to save them shipping, but it would
take some time to do it. The squares are hinged to the pages, and some are loose already.

The pages are thick, so I don't know that there are 800 pages. ??? Could be,
but I was guesstimating something like 500. I might be wrong though.

I am a member of the Postmark Collectors Club. We donate our "extras" to the club for sale on ebay to support our museum and club activities. Typically they are auctioned in alphabetized lots of 200.

You have a very good collection there! Pre-zip code and slogan cancels are usually in good demand.

As luck would have it, some PA postmarks are now being sold. Here is a recently completed auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/200-PA-Postmark...em1c1c57a0fc

That averages to about $0.08 per postmark. That is on the low side. Considering the material, I would guess your collection would command a higher price. ($0.15 - $0.25) I don't collect PA or I would take them off your hands!

If you bundle them, you can cut down on postage. The $2.50 postage per 200 postmarks covers the cost nicely.

Of course you could always donate them to the PMCC.

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.

An afterthought... If there are DPO's (discontinued post offices) or last day cancels, the value would be higher too. Considering the age of the collection, there probably are some DPOs.

A post office in Flemmington PA (near Lock Haven PA)was just forced to close due to postal cutbacks and downsizing. It's a shame too it was a friendly little P.O. so maybe that would be a good one to have? I'm actually really interested in buying those PA covers/cutsquares from you if your selling them. Let me know if you do huh?

I am considering just putting these on this site's auction forum since I don't really know/care where to go with this.
Like I said, they are no longer alphabetical, and many are starting to come loose as you rattle the pages around.
Then, another part of me doesn't even care to deal with money and would rather do some horse trading.
Give me a couple days to think on the best way for me to proceed.
Then we can talk turkey in the proper forum.

Just for giggles, I counted out 100 pages and compared height with the rest.
I came up with ~600 as a guesstimate.
However, I can't remember if I counted the original 100 in that! LOL!
So it could be more?
Should be about 4000 of these things!

Just read the complete thread and I woke up not long ago. Not sure if I am dreaming. Just go on private carrier website to get quotes. Sorry I won't bid i'm still on a tight budget.

Well, Panda Bear has them now... (IN TRANSIT)
The shipping weight was 20# and would have been 20 through FedEx,
however we decided that wouldn't be any fun! Mailing through the
USPS meant there would be 2 boxes and all the neat stamps we could
put on those 2 boxes would be icing on the cake, so 30 bux it was.

I look forward to reading future posts by Drew on what he finds.
I hope it is more than he expected!
