Note: I'm using Linux - I'm looking for some software that will allow me to pring my own album pages for countries other than the US. I currently have StampPageCreator installed and it looks nice and seems to do what I want, however there is absolutely no help files with it. I'm also looking for image files of stamps that I can download, are there any sites for this?
Thanks Chris

chris For custom pages you can try AlbumEasy www.thestampweb.com/I use it for my topical collections. But it was not that easy for me. I work about a day to get the page that I want. From there you just change data and there you go. I made easily 700 or 800 pages using this freeware. |

Hi Chris I use Linux also. I am not great with creating my own pages yet so I use stampalbum.com. Here are a couple of pages from one of my albums. Dianne |

Very nice looking album pages ... and they even look nice with hinged stamps (but that's another topic). |

Chris: First lets draw a distinction between DESIGNING your own pages and PRINTING pages (that have been designed by others). As you are aware, for DESIGNING, you'll need something that runs on Linux and they seem to be few and far between. Consider an emulator or running Windows in a virtual machine. Obviously, PRINTING pages from others is much simpler because most are provided as PDF. I started a thread attempting to compile a list of free album pages in one location: https://goscf.com/t/11268Good Luck, KirkS |

If you're going to be doing a lot of page designs, I recommend trying professional publishing software. I use MS Publisher. It's a bit tougher on Linux. Might try Scribus. It's open source and free. |

Quote: Might try Scribus And Gimp -- more "graphics" oriented than Scribus. Of course, OpenOffice.org has a nice word processor too. |

I use Bill Steiner's designed pages from stampalbums.com and, for the most part they are pretty solid. He has a page or two where the orientation of the stamp is incorrect, but he does come out with regular updates and corrections. For the price - $30/online per year and $10 more for a CD-ROM with the PDF's - it's a good deal. |

Thanks all! KirkS, your links are great. The amount of information is overwhelming so far. I'm going to have to take awhile to digest all of this.
Thanks again for all the replies Chris

Thanks, I downloaded it yesterday and have been giving it a try. Can't seem to find any docs for it though, even looked on the webpage. It doesn't seem to complicated though. What I really need to do is get a scanner and a copy of the Scott worldwide catalog so I can scan my other than US stamps in and then add the pictures to the pages I create as well as identify them.

On the support page, there's a forum for posting questions and answers. KirkS |

The only thing I don't like about it, is it doesn't let you put a one line description under the stamp. Everything goes inside the box, which gets hidden when the stamp is mounted to the page. |

I just realized that I have printed about 450 album pages thus far. Time to get a new ream of paper and print cartridges.
Only my US and Spain stamp collections are not on Steiner pages.
