Thanks I actually got know one of the J.C. Ayer's relatives through researching this stamp and you should see their collection of patent medicine bottles and wooden cases with the revenues still on them! Fabulous write ups about him too and I personally enjoyed with great vigor the dispelling of the "Snake-oil salesman" moniker put on everyone from a few...well a lot of bad apples! lol. Oh, they also auction off some stuff from time to time on a little family style auctions online. If you would like the link I can dig it up for you!

I have a ton of these L.J.Gage documentary Revenues both mint and used and on piece overprinted from 1950 to 1953 and methinks the seller on this may be a little over zealous!

Their price is a little high for a Mint Hinged copy with AVG centering and a few rounded perf.'s This should be in the $85-$100 AT BEST. An R601 in VF condition will set you back about $150. If you have any MNH dupes of these(R601) we can work something out.

I sent you an email but I don't think you'll be interested in them. They are all "off piece" because the document was folded.
