i do not have a dog or cat, a horse, a custom car, a motorcycle, I don't gamble or drink or smoke...so I TRY to use all that descretionary income on stamps and covers that I can use...of course I look for the best deal I can find with shipping...i tend to spend more when dealing with a warm body than an id on the net..i guess that close contact does count...anyway its harmless fun..why not after the bills are paid ??

Well Phil

I don't gamble or smoke. I make My own beer and wine. I do have 3 cats but they are not very costly to keep. I have never been one to spend much money on myself, that is if you don't count my obsession with plants. I agree totally agree that there's no harm in spending on a hobby that I enjoy so much. It helps that my hubby thinks stamps are cool and never complains about the money I spend on stamps.

Dianne

I have two dogs and a cat. nor do I smoke or gamble (... unless bidding on stamps in an auction counts as gambling). My viewpoint is that the money I spend on my stamp hobby is no different than someone who spends his/her time and money on golf - the difference is that I have something longer lasting. I get smilies on my face - the golfer gets smilies on his golf balls.
So - we both are happy with our respective "hobbies"

Unfortunately I Smoke, Drink, Play Golf, and according to my Wife many of other "Expensive Habits" so my Wife's take on my hobby is usually,
"How much is it worth" which is normally followed up with "When are you going to sell it ?" So I must admit that I do a bit of sneaking around........
