Not that I have a pic to toss but would the idea of extinct animals/ plants/ flowers fit into the thread. I know there are many endangered species issues from almost every issuing nation. DODO (doedoe/ doughdough) bird comes to mind .

There are certainly other extinct birds on Mauritian stamps. The 5 highest values in this set show extinct native birds:

How about a stamp with a decimal fraction overprint, or is that cheating by being too specific?
