You could use the one where the members guess the selling value of a stamp on E-Bay - it has the advantage of being easy to run.

Ok, enough procrastination! here is Mila_'s very belated birthday contest!
The next person who can name the highest denomination US postage stamp ever issued is the winner of all this:
1) all the stamp notes donated by mila_ 2) all the assorted stamps donated by mila_ 3) one book - "100 greatest US stamps" OR stamp encyclopedia or "stamp collecting for dummies" (your choice, donated by t360)
you only get one guess, no take overs ready set go |

The highest U.S. denomination appears on the $50,000 Distilled Spirits Excise Tax stamp issued in 1950. |

Quote: Do Tax Stamps count as Postage Stamp as well????? By definition, I wouldn't think so. But I don't make the rules. |

No one has it yet. Sorry mk, It must be a postage stamp (issued for carrying mail), not a revenue stamp. |

Yeah it was a toss up since many revenues were at times used for postage. In fact many PO's would accept them for postage, though why anyone would use a $50,000 revenue for postage would be strange. But then again the PO has let many foreign stamps go through the system for postage too so go figure. At least it was an opportunity to mention a $50,000 stamp.
Thanks for the contest Tom and congratulations to djd. |
