Here's another example of a costly mistake -- this time for an absentee ballot for voting. The town admits it made a mistake in indicating 61 cents rather than 65 cents postage would be required, but that the USPS issued a directive to all post offices to forward ballots with underpaid postage to the courthouse and they would pickup the extra costs in the account they have with the post office -- but apparently the contract postal unit (CPU) didn't get word of the request:

At the post office I go to, the lady usually just pats it and makes sure that it passes through the slot in their sorting machines. No twisting or anything...

Cheers

There is a dire need for more stamp collectors just to keep the Post Office 'service' alive.

One way the PO can survive is by issuing more stamps and stamp products that collectors will buy.

Simple: more stuff for suckers (oops, stamp collectors) to buy=more money for the PO=everybody happy..........but, some of them broke.

Just think about the poor people in Skagway, Alaska that have to wait up to 3 weeks to get their mail, mail ordered medicines and all! Wow!
