Bujutsu,

Maybe once you start digging through them you'll become a collector!

That's what happened to me a few years ago. I had boxes of old covers with common definitives and couldn't figure out what to do with them!

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
I collect for enjoyment, not investment.

I thought I was the only one who has found a cache of those 2 x 4's.
Here is a shot of my stash, all cut neatly. They were all mounted on notebook paper using those old lick-em stick-em photo corners and put in old 3 ring binders, by state.

I've decided I am going to dive in with both feet and study the cancels, as well as the stamps (there are lot's of W/F's)

SPAIN_1850 I see something that I can't make out in that swarm...what exactly are they?? I can't figure out what they are? Series 1902's? (the 1902's face left where as these face right..intriguing!) Revenues? I just had a look through my binder and can find no Washington's that face right. I'm not saying that there aren't any (because there obviously is per your examples) and I even looked through my revenues too...I'm very curious as to what they are?! The paper even looks odd..almost a bluish-green color?

edited to add some stuff...

Dan

I collect so many different postmarks as it is. The ones in the shoebox I was referring to are either not in my specialty area or are dupes.

I am thinking that maybe some day, I'll put them up for trade because there must be well over 1000 of them on piece now. I might just sell the box load as a single unit, not sure yet

Yes, they are trimmed copies from those souvenir sheets. I'll post a picture when I get a chance. The paper, if I remember right, is just soiled or stained. I think they are actually on that piece in pairs with the 5c, just like on the sheet.
