Does EZstamp work with Third Reich 33-45 stamps and non-postal such as tax etc? Are there Scott Catalog #'s for these
I think so for revenue stamps. I do see a "USAREV" database with what I purchased. As for Third Reich 33-45, are these cataloged by Scott? If so, Ezstamp probably has them covered.

Here (PDF file) is a country list of 400 countries supported by Ezstamp:

http://www.ezstamp.com/ezstamp/Ez8C...riesList.pdf

And here is the main web site:

http://www.ezstamp.com/

I'm sure there is contact info there for you to inquire further if you have further questions.

I use it only for US airmail and aviation topicals, but am quite happy with it. It is extendible, i.e. the user can add new entries of their own. Moreover, it has a feature for including images of covers, so I'm in the process of cataloging my very extensive cover collection with images of my covers. Actually, you can do the same with stamps: replace the "stock" image with an exact image of the stamp in your collection.

It no doubt has many features I've never even tried.

I have Stamp manage now and I am not pleased with it. Does anyone know if I go with Ezstamp , can I import my data from Stamp manage ?

No, you cannot. This is the one drawback that people often do not talk about, retaining the value of the hours that you into entering data in a database. EZStamp will import your data for you, for a fee (according to their website).

But any good database program should give you complete access and control of YOUR data and nor lock you into a corner if you want to move your data freely.

The import and export of data is pretty basic thing in the database world and does not require special software to do. In fact a manufacturer has to work to add extra code to prevent a person from being able to easily import and export data. There are only two reasons to limit this functionality; one is to make it a profit center and the other is to prevent people from easily moving away from your software.

StampManage is based upon MS Access (.mdb) files and you can quite easily import and export anything in it. The trouble come when you go to try to get it into EZStamp. I vaguely recall EZStamp saying they would import data for free if you asked them to do it at one time; you might want to contact them and ask.

But keep in mind that one day you might want to get your data back out and into another database. I have used StampManage for years but do not recommend them either, their support is virtually non-existent.

IMO everyone should expect, no demand, that they have complete control and access to their own data they enter. You will have invested far more in the time entering data in any of these apps then you will in the cost of the app itself.

I thought I'd add my perspective. I've recently purchased and downloaded StampManage and have begun to enter parts of my collection into it. My primary interest is in creating a solid inventory, including values, of all my collection, and to have a good database for quicker generation of want lists.

First I find it easy to use and a pretty quick process, usually, to add stamps to my "collections."

I have played around with it with three of my collections - Israel, Vatican City, and Haiti. With Israel and Vatican City, the entries seem very much complete, at least for the couple dozen of stamps with each country I played around with.

Haiti was a little different. Most stamps were listed, but there were a few missing photos and a lot of values and other information missing. Haiti is not the most collected country out there, so as database of user-driven data, it stands to reason that there might be some gaps in Haiti. I guess I'll be able to give them quite an update on that country in due time.

I have started in earnest adding my newspaper, military newspaper, and newspaper tax stamps to the inventory. It is going fast, with the only hiccup being that quite a few (maybe half so far) of these back of the book stamps, including my US newspaper stamps, do not have values included. I'm looking them up and adding them as I go, but my Scott catalogs are '07 so even the valuation information I add will largely be out of date.

EDIT: The one challenge I'm having, and it just may be that I've not figured out how to do it yet, is entering non-Scott listed items.

I have not yet tried to add the non-Scott listed newspaper railway stamps nor the newspaper wrappers I have to the inventory, but will likely be doing that this Saturday.

While it lacks the full database of EZStamps, I found the price points right and so far the database sufficient for my needs. I'll report back when I start entering my Scouts on Stamps collection, which will likely take me into the databases of dozens and dozens of their countries.

I saw a recent post in another thread about StampManage and downloaded the trial. I absolutely notice that support ins't there- my email asking a couple of questions bounced! I resent to a different email address and have not heard back. I tried to join the forums but there too have not heard about being approved.

My simple questions are:

- Can stamps be organized in sets instead of singles?
- Can custom buttons be added to the ribbon for things like Delcampe or Stamps2Go?

Can anyone here help?
