From my experience....if you dabble in stamps the APS with its yearly dues of 45 dollars is probably not for you.. I have heard more than once "all I got out of it was the magazine..would rather spend my 45 dollars somewhere else". But once you turn the corner and become serious about the hobby...i think you would want the APS as your partner. Its instant respect..once a dealer knows you are an APS member...your check is good !!

I can not wait to use my discounts on books and stamps. My membership went Thur today how long usually before you get your number? I can use the site and all already.

I would expect about a month to get the card itself. But, you could email them & get it more quickly. I became a member 2 years ago and just renewed for my 3rd. I really enjoy the monthly magazine and usually devour it the same day it arrives. Of course, the same goes for Linn's.
