Perhaps the decision was made based on the $2.00 price. Slim odds at best plus a $12.00 investment make me want to pass on getting anymore. I have one sheet for my stamp book and the cover with the old and the new stamp on it plus another so I'm set. Tom |

I have noticed if you take the unopened security envelope with Jenny inside, one can place it close in front of a light(I use an OTT-LITE) the stamp can be seen thru the secure envelope and thereby determ if the sheet is inverted or not. I do not know if local post offices only sell these in the same type shrink wrap with cardboard backing like it comes when ordering thru mail from USPS - if so, then it would be secured, if not some enperprising idividual could scan thru a lot to see what's there. |

I have purchased a few sheets from my local PO over the past few months and they have all come in the plastic wrap with cardboard backing. |

There is a marking on the wrapper not to sell without it. The wrapper & cardboard wrapping are an intentional security to prevent such 'egging' of the envelope. |

I've opened up 20 of those packets and so far they are all inverted. I've used them all for postage. |

Did anyone catch this article in Linn's Stamp News suggesting that the odds of finding a Jenny reprint with the right-side-up airplane could be 1:19,000 (they previously estimated 1:22,000). So now that the odds may be a bit better, I guess that means we collector's should hurry up and buy some more! http://www.linns.com/news/jennyheld.aspx |

As long as you can use them, I see no reason not too. Those are a lot better odds than winning the lottery. |

Unless they are watching some real old 'Lassie' re-runs (or google it) they have no clue.. I'd be surprised if anyone born after 1970 knew that term. lol |

Tom, I have spent that much shipping on ebay in a week when I was selling a lot. Most people just click and ship now. I sent out a package a few weeks ago using the Jenny stamps and the lady at the counter looked at me like, you better not start doing this all the time! Luckily for her, I have not been selling much on ebay lately. |

After my last two big ebay auctions, I used about $600 to $800 in postage for each of them. I never use ebay labels, meter postage or the sort. Stamps all the way - nothing else is acceptable. You can go through postage quickly especially with a lot of international orders. It's been harder to find all the stamps I've needed recently given some changes at my local post office and now I rely on four different post offices to find all the denominations. I've found that the post offices on the well traveled routes were sold out of the Jenny stamps quickly while the others in more remote locations have problems selling them. |

Here's a link to the Linn's e-newsletter article suggesting that 10 of the 100 "unvert" panes have been reported thus far (including the one found in NJ by a dealer who purchased 300 panes): http://www.linns.com/news/jennyupda...tm_campaign=It seems to me it just goes to prove how the average collector has less of a chance of finding one than the dealer/business who has the financial means to lay out thousands of dollars in postage in hopes of finding one. |
