I really like the red cancel that does not cover the eyes of Franklin.
The expression of the eyes is the most important part of a portrait.
Congratulations !

Well, it showed up today and I love it:

I suppose the thin could be classified as "tiny". Unfortunately, with the power of my scanner (or non-manipulated scan), the thin does show through with the black background. The dark mark in the center of his forehead is the thin. Along with the area in the top right.

All in all, I'm very pleased with it for the price I paid ($200 delivered) and psyched to finally have a #1 and that it presents nicely

May it bring you a spark of joy every time you visit that page, Mike!

I know the feeling.

BTW it will present better with a clear mount on a white or cream page than on black background anything.

Is that a hinge remnant on back? It could be hiding a more significant thin.

Congrats on getting a very nice copy of this classic beauty.

The $200 is quickly saved by not having to see a shrink about the missing US #1 in your album

Thanks everyone - forgot to mention too that I bought on the 4x ebay bucks day so I got $16 back to spend in October with it as well.

eyeonwall - yes, that's what left of the hinge and probably what caused the thin to begin with but it's just the glue remnants as you can see the paper underneath it just fine. I scanned it at 1200 and can't see anything else

Very well centered specimen. Very nice Mike. Don't want to scare you but lots of fakes out there. Look at it carefully when it comes. Congrats!
