Folks, you can NOT reliably compare images made by two different ebay sellers as different scanners can give vastly different shades (even the same brand and model used by 2 different people can give different results). The fact that you see diiferent shades in different ebay listings proves nothing, unless it is one scan of 2 different stamps done side by side at the same time.

In the case of the two stamps posted by WT that appear to have been scanned at the same time, te left one is more heavily inked - best seen on the shoulder to the left of the "SO" of SOCIAL - the right one shows crossing lines, the left one shows solid innking.

I received my pane of 20 of the 32-cent Wallace definitive and the color in normal.

I received mine also, they both look the same to me even thought the scans on ebay looked very different.

I have talked to someone with a specialized Great Americans collection and he assured me that the light blue Wallace 2936a DOES exist and that the difference is obvious when placed next to a 2936.

If anyone knows about or finds a light blue Wallace definitive, I would love to know where so I can obtain a pane of 20, as well.

Like MarginBlocks, I too would like to hear if someone locates the light blue Wallaces. I have purchased several plate blocks that looked to be of different shades on my computer screen, only to discover that they looked identical when placed side by side. Scott values both color varieties the same ... but I suspect that the light blue might be a bit more scarce than its sibling.

After sorting thru my Wallaces, I did find one stamp that appears to be of a slightly different shade. Although I would call the shades dark blue & blue rather than blue & light blue. And I'm not really certain that the stamp on the right qualifies as the light blue variant.
