Sigh ....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CKStamps-US...em5d53fcb37b

ETA: This is Scott #24. You don't even really need to look at the side ornaments. No Plate 4 stamps, the source of Sc. #21, have top and bottom breaks as large as those found on all examples of Sc. #24. The only exception is position 99R2, which is Sc. #21 in perforated form. And this is a truly rare variety.

Thank you both, I am now a member of USPCS.

Ray

EDIT: One of Kennys employees must have posted that Franklin, considering how much discussion went into the last one.

Thanks for pointing out the article by David Zlowe. Just finished it, helps me look at the 1 cent Franklins outside the type boxes.

That latest stamp you linked to is a tough one with all the missing info. That perf trim is very deceptive. I can't even tell for sure if it's relief A or possibly C or D.

Edited for incorrect autocorrect.

Lines up very well, so just stole some extra perf length from it's former neighbor. I'd like to hear your opinion on type. I can't positively type this one, but I wouldn't list stamps for sale as 21s if I wasn't confident that's what they are.

The wonders of this forum is that we all learn. I started this thread because the right edge looked cut to me. After hearing Bill Weiss and other experts, I realize that for me to buy an S-21, it must have certification. I hope others are learning as much as I am.

disi123: The hole shapes looked wrong to me, but I'll stand corrected on the reperfing. Thanks.
