Don't forget to check your local Library for the recent reference volumes of the Scott Catalogs. I have a 2009 set, that is fine for my purposes, plus Stampmanage software to keep my database in. We also have regular club meetings to discuss news and ask questions about things like color varieties and the such.
You are in the correct place for help. I have picked up an unbelievable amount of knowledge from the people on here that would have taken many years to get on my own. If you do decide to sell maybe you can find a collector to buy the stamps as you would get more money from a collector than a dealer. Dealers have to buy low to make a profit and they cannot get much profit off common - used stamps.
