I went to 5 Post Offices this afternoon and I got this sheet finally. It seems a lot of USPS Self-Service Kiosks are still printing the flag stamps.

There seems to be an awful smudge on the left side of all the stamps. (Wink.) |

msfong, Which post office did you find these? I think I live in your area and would like to get some. |

I just wrote about this in another forum:
If I remember correctly, only certain types of ATM machines have printed the special Holiday stamps over the past few years. I forget what the criterion was to be included on the special list. I went to the Champlain Station in South Burlington, VT yesterday and it was still printing the Flag stamps. BTW, Champlain Station reports to the Burlington Post Office even though it's actually physically located in South Burlington.

I got mine today from a source I hardly expected -- the APC at the USPS in Woonsocket, RI. The machine is relatively old; the display is blinking and flickering like the monitor needs replacing; but the graphics on the screen do show the Charlie Brown graphic, so that's what it dispensed: |

I wonder: Will the block that is not valid postage be collectible one day? |

Quote: I wonder: Will the block that is not valid postage be collectible one day? I doubt it. Since the APC/SSK only allows you to buy items over $1 in value, a quantity of three (3) labels is the minimum it will print, with the fourth always containing the "Not Valid for Postage" imprint. Actually, any odd number of stamps selected will produce the same result. |

wt, but will people keep the invalid stamp? Fifty years from now it may be like wine tax stamps. |

Collectors (like me) will keep them; consumers who don't have a stamp collecting interest will probably discard them. Some will even attempt to use them as postage (although I believe they are encoded to avoid that). In any case, they will be less desirable since they are "not valid for postage" but on the other hand, there will be less of them around.
Also, notice how the serial number spacing is different comparing the one I posted to the original posted one by msfong, even though the same number of alphanumeric characters appear:
A9 145 1 10700 1757 C04 15 1 107 165525
I believe that has something to do with identifying the type of APC/SSK unit that dispensed the labels:

I hate the printed stamps in general. I mean that you should just use a regular commemmorative man! |

"THIS BLOCK NOT VALID FOR POSTAGE" has always been a "collectable" for many of us who collect CVP. The CVP stamp has still not showed up in New Orleans area. |

I don't normally hunt down CVP but being of the age where it ain't Christmas without "Good old Charlie Brown" I am actually looking for this version. So far, not found in Lansing MI or Omaha NE or St Louis MO. I will be in metro Detroit next weekend and will be able to check several POs for them there.
