The thrill of discovery just may be in most stamp collectors dreams. However, very few of us actually discover a rarity. So, ... like so many stamp collectors, I settle for having as complete of a collection as possible. Of necessity, that limits me to sticking to only a few countries. Having more than the next guy, or gal, is not my goal.

I particularly see stamps as miniature works of art and enjoy looking at them almost as much as as art hanging on a museum wall. And in some case, I like the stamps much better.

I think of collecting very much the same as the rest of the collectors that have posted in this thread,I do enjoy collecting and stamps are only a part of this enjoyment.

I love history and geography and learning about the different cultures and coutries through stamps is the perfect way to do it.
