What Stamp Album(S) Do You Use?

I use the Scott Internationals. I have them sorted by Country. I have the supplements up through Number 36B which is through 2000. I have the Vintage Reproduction Pages for 1840-1940. They are kept in 50 jumbo binders. I have left space for stamps and additional supplements so the binders wouldn't get too bulky. That's why I have a so many binders.

Davo for a few countries and (black-paged) stockbooks from Lighthouse for the rest.

Schaubek Hingeless (but my collection is small).

I use the Scott Specialty Albums and Vario black stock pages in 3-ring binders for the overflow. I use BK-104 cards and the long red dealer's boxes for the over-overflow.

I use stockbooks (mainly Lighthouse) to store my w/w collections.
Most of them are 32 pagers with white pages (the ones with black pages have durability issues).

I have experimented with different albums and pages. While I collect WW, my collection is the sum of several country/empire/regional collections. If I was to sell I would sell them in lots by sub-collection (1-3 binders). I have also been tempted to consolidate down using sales proceeds to beef up a core collection. While that is always an option, I'm evolving by sampling the world at the moment working a different country each month.

Over the years, my collection has grown into volumes.

To be honest, I am not a real fan of the pre-printed album pages. I do have to be honest again though and admit that I have an old Scott's National album for US stamps, British Colonies and German States & Colonies. I obtained these in my early days of collecting with the exception of the German States / colonies one - that was a steal, literally, from a used book shop and like new.

The rest of the albums in my collection I made myself. I also did this in the pre computer age too, all by hand!

Now, in the computer age, I now make my albums up by using "Word" I find I can put designs and any font I wish to use and it must be at least 10 times as fast as doing it by hand lol.

What bothered me with some of the pre-printed albums was a page reserved for just one stamp! Now don't get me wrong - I don't believe in cluttering up a Page either. It just bothered me to see so much wasted space on a page <G>

Oh well, my two cents worth anyway - even if it is Canadian currency.

I have a Costa Rica Specialised album (from Costa Rica) in Spanish & English. Including my covers, it occupies 12, two-inch, 3-ringed (philatelic) binders. All binders are tan suede coloured.

My KGVI collection is in a fatbound Stanley Gibbons KGVI album. The rest (varieties, covers, etc.) are in 12 red, one-inch, 3-ringed (philatelic) binders.

The U.S. Air Mail Collection is on a White Ace U.S. Air Mail album pages, in two, blue, two-inch (philatelic) binders; the airmail perfins & precancels in one, deep blue, one-inch, 3-ringed (philatelic) binder; the air mail postmarks in one of the same; the Air Postal History of Texas in two, blue, two-inch, (philatelic) 3-ringed binders, and two deep blue, one-inch, 3-ringed (philatelic) binders.

My U.S.A. collection is on CWS (Canadian Wholesale Supply) U.S. Seal Album pages, housed in 9 grey, two-inch (philatelic) binders.

My Netherlands Indies/Indonesia collectin is on self-printed Steiner album pages, housed in 7 green, two-inch (philatelic) binders.

I thought they were going to issue Big Browns for the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s... have you heard anything on this? They sure are nice albums.

I do remember seeing an ad for them a few years ago. I also remember them deing insanely expensive!!

I think for $2700, I would expect something better than "padded brown leatherlike" binders

What Subway has yet to do is release pages after 1940 as they once suggested. The Vintage repro pages are just for the Big Brown era (up to 1940). The binders are a big part of the cost but you can buy just the pages in International or Specialist sizes. I have the Repro pages just for the Baltic States I purchased from ebay. There is a touch of detail lost in ornate border corners as expected with a reproduction but overall very nice. The paper is slightly lighter in color and of nice thickness (seems 80# at least).
