I suggest that you divide it in half so that you know what you have. I'd be willing to let rod have the left half, as I could make do with the selvaged half, if I had to.
Just trying to help.

We had better make it quick before tonymacg spots it. He is so wealthy, he has diamonds on the soles of his shoes. It's nice isn't it? I am a nice guy, I'll let you have the left side. |

its not in in my india catalog other than gibbons
where it is imperf hor pair 45 gbp and vertical is only known as used gbp 250. this is a gold mine forget the value send it to me
also realize that scott and sg both are useless for valuing indian stamps. as I dealer I make nearly 2k usd a year just because the catalogs dont know what they are doing but I am not complaining. :)
rest of you lot (other than BC) your names arent spock so stop eyeing the stamp
i would list it on the bay with a reserve price of 1000$ and see where it goes. |

As far as I can see, this is Travancore-Cochin SG O10i, £6 per pair in the 2010 Part 1. Perforation errors are rife in the surcharges on Travancore, I'm afraid, and a bit hard to shift. |

tony this travancore cochin but imho the price point should be referred using travancore as that is where the origin is and imperfs from travancore are a small population so iperfs with counterstamps will be even a smaller part as seen int he SG 3rd edition india specific.
btw did you follow the india lot that went for 4k or you are not into modern india? |

Thanks guys for all the replies. Taken note of them all. Spock...not sure how you get to such a high figure What catalogue are you using? Tony....What part 1 catalogue are you using? Is the small 'i' taken to mean Imperf ? Thanks for the help. Londonbus1 |

Spock: I'm only interested in the States, and not all of them. (Travancore and Travancore-Cochin are well down my list. Barwani is my favourite.)
I really can't agree about the value of perforation errors on Travancore and Travancore-Cochin, though. They're legion, in the later years, and a drug on the market. I'd count myself very lucky to realize better than a third of Gibbons if I was to sell mine. I might try posting a few specimens, once I get on top of posting images here. I have two examples of SG O10fc, blocks of 4 imperf between horiz. and vert., perf 12, and an SG O10g imperf between vertical pair, which is unlisted in Gibbons. I also have a used copy of SG O10fd, the FOUB for FOUR error, perf 12.
Londonbus: I'm using the 2010 Part 1. The 'i' is purely incidental. That's where the numbering of all the varieties on this stamp had got to when this particular error was listed - after all the different perforation gauges, perforation errors and spelling errors. |

my hearing is gone or should I say my sight. if you are willing to dump your india mnh ( states) for 1/3rd gb you neednt say it again. if they are in good condition consider them sold
jubilee and rod you guys can have the used ones but I got lucky I guess. but really let e tell you you will be making a big mistake but I wont complain but I feel its my duty to tell you so that you dont feel zipped off later but I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Spock, only Travancore and Travancore-Cochin perf errors - and in view of the sickly state of the £, against the $A at least, I think I'd need 40% of Gibbons. But if you're really interested, you can email me. I have Travancore SG 76ba and Travancore-Cochin SG 4bb, O6da, 06dh, two of O19fc, O11bb, O11ca, O11cd and O12cc as well as a few scarcer perforations.
For other States, I'd be looking for considerably more than 40% of Gibbons. For Cochin, for instance, or - if I were to suffer a brainstorm - my Barwani. (I might be tempted at 200% of Gibbons for my SG 34Aa ...) |
