I seem to accumulate scads of damaged stamps especially since I started doing a lot of bulk sorting for circuits. Initially, I had a person locally who used them for decoupage but, she no longer does that. We had a member on this forum for a time that used damaged stamps in crafting and art projects but, she is no longer with us for whatever reason. I am currently sending my when I get a bunch together to 'johnstamp' in the PI because he gives them to youth programs in the Philippines. |

Viking funeral!! Yikes!! I leave you guys alone for a while and you're having Viking Funerals!! The idea of sharing with the youth--say SCOUTS, etc is a great idea. How about helping a child decoupage damaged stamps onto a can and use it as a pencil/pen holder? (place a piece of paper around the can and secure it first, then decoupage over that.) I know that personally, I would like that. I saw some damaged stamps decoupaged to a small lamp shade at an antique/craft store-it looked pretty awesome. Greetings from Gussyboy1 |

Kids love stamps. Wounded soldiers get love and attention in the hospital ward managed by a child. My first stamp (at age 6, I think) was a Canadian 1 cent Edward VII. It fell off a postcard in my grandmother's box of stuff. It was torn and faded. It was missing perfs. To be honest, I lost track of it, but not for about 25 years. The thought of it still brings a smile to my face.

Philatelic Euthanasia, or P.E., is banned in some countries, provinces and states, so I would be careful what you say on this board. I will not comment on what I do with my terminally ill stamps. |

Re decoupage - a fellow has decided to walk across the USA from New York to Oregon, for no particular reason. He's not fundraising or campaigning for a particular cause, he's just walking. At the end of his day, he'll knock on some doors to see if he can pitch his tent in somebody's yard. He meets a number of interesting people this way - one lady had this chair in her house, and he saw fit to take a picture of it and post it on his site. http://imjustwalkin.com/Ryan |

Now that chair is cool. I wonder how may coats of shellac it took? It did give me some ideas though. I have some old picture frames that could be done up like a shadow box and have a theme with the stamps that match the theme in it.

bobgggg, I thought you'd never ask! How's my boyfriend doing?? Together, anything is possible with stamps. Yes, even a loveseat covered in stamps--but I even like the idea of a picture frame covered in stamps ,too. Gussyboy1 |
