Hi all,

I am new to stamp collecting and I was thinking of starting a stamp collection of the Great White shark.

May you help me with a list of countries that have released stamps for this fish.

Thanks

Amr

Hi Amr,
they are pretty thin on the ground.

Liberia, Mozambique and Canada

Aha: also known as the "White Pointer" (Carcharodon carcharias)
so Australia
SG1826 (1998) T0596 45c fauna white pointer shark.

try Googling with text string "Great White" and "stamps" then selecting "images"
Hope this assists.

Amr, try going to this website... http://www.freestampcatalogue.com/app
Select "existing stamps by topic"
Then select "fish"
you can then choose to search by year or country.

Have fun.

Oh and here is another shark series for you..

After spending about 3 hours searching the link and googling for stamps, I can really say that I am interested in stamp collecting.

This is ofcourse besides the headache I feel right now.

I am not familiar with the proper terminology so please feel free to correct me anytime.

i think my other hobby (drawing) has influenced my choices, because the stamps I like were for landscape painting such as those chinese stamps

It depends on the stamp. The stamps you showed from Bhutan were issued imperforate, and I believe as 3-D images.

Steve; I think I opened the "can of worms" LOL

So, I think this is a nice topic or theme that I would be interested to collect "ofcourse beside the Great white theme".

Stamps being a part of a picture showing a beautiful drawing or image more or less with an antique "old" appearance.

Is there a name for this topic or theme?

and what would you advice me about my start... what to read? buy? and how to save, preserve and display my stamps?

I no nothing about stamp collecting and I am waiting for you all to educate me.

Thanks

Amr
