I also have gravitated toward covers and away from my mint stamps (at least for the time being). I do enjoy digging into a dealer's cast off box to see what catches my eye. $1.00 covers are my favorite!
The dollar boxes or bargin boxes are indeed my favorite items too. The hunt and discovery is a main part of the fun. I found three dealer at the last Lantham, NY stamp brouse that had bargin/dollar boxes and I didn't bother to look at anything else for the most part.
