Yes, that's how it turned out.
I was up at the crack of dawn yesterday for what is most likely the last Flea Market of the year. The car was loaded to the roof the day before. I'd had only 5 hours sleep having played Taxi Driver to my daughter until after midnight !! [Why do young people START their fun at 1am ??]
Having quickly set up my tables it was clear it was going to be a good day, the place was soon heaving. During the day I met a number of stamp collectors who purchased a number of items, including some better stuff ! Included were two Dads with their kids who also collect and it was such fun speaking with them for as long as I was able and to give them some stamps and empty albums for free !
One of the Dads will bring his sons to visit me because he has an interest in Cinderellas and JNF labels in particular.
It was a great feeling and a great atmosphere all day long and I came home with a much lighter car [less than half full !!] and over $400 in my pocket !

Today I came home from work to find the mail on my desk. A bulging packet from Kirk; A Bomb Proof packet from Stampgal [I wonder who she's been learning from ?]; and a million stamps [or so it seems] from Stamp Virgin. On top of that there was an eagerly awaited ebay lot which I will show later in the '1971 Postal Strike' thread and the latest copy of the USA Philatelic with it's usual superbly designed front cover [other magazines take note].
So all in all, a great weekend and it's not over yet........

Londonbus1....Stampgal's packet, here I come

Stampgal !

Superb packaging, great items including the extra stamps, superb.
But also inside was a Flag...a very special Flag.

Our Scottish Gal's very own Saltire on a letter card which will sit proudly in my Flag collection.
I mentioned somewhere on SCF recently that it's nice to add 'something' to your exchange packet or sale. This is one very good example and was a joy [Grrrrr!] to open and now share.

Just to cap the weekend off nicely, I have just won a long sought-after Exhibition item that I know Jubilee has in his collection.
The souvenir sheets from the 1990 StampWorld London Exhibition will be on their way to me shortly. Jubilee has posted them before I believe.

Perfect end to the weekend.

Londonbus1.....[another Banana-mine not Cjd's]

What a fun weekend! I would have never thought of trying to sell stamps at a flea market! I don't seem to have much time on weekends for stamp play, I get distracted by other things. In other news, I made some fantastic Mint Pea Soup, so maybe you can be a little jealous of my weekend too, unless you hate peas!

I love Peas, adore them. If I could grow them I would sell them at the Flea Market too !

Puree St.Germain aux Menthe...Yummy !

Then there's the old English favorite;

Pease Pudding hot,
Pease Pudding cold,
Pease Pudding in the pot,
Nine days old !

Then there is Petit Pois Francaise with Lettuce and Bacon...scrummy !
And my Wife's own recipe with olive oil and garlic.....we eat it on Fridays sometimes.

But how many Peas on Stamps are there?

Londonbus1.....Loves Flea Markets AND Peas !

You want peas on stamps? Check out the Rolitos de ternera.

Then there are Sweet peas (much nicer than mushy peas). See 57p.

I hate to mention it, but wasn't it stampgal who got a charge out of someone stepping out for a 'pea' in another thread?

Nice photos in that first link, 22crows. Looks like they're right out of Betty Crocker.

Talking about peas on stamps, I bet there are pictures of Gregor Mendel and his ever-so-famous pea plants!
