The story behind this flight, a special air mail flight for Christmas with the Fokker F.XVIII PH-AIS "Snip" (Sandpiper). It was the first trans-atlantic flight by KLM. It was re-registered as PJ-AIS.
The first link tells about these covers and the cancels and cachets used (in Dutch).
If this nice Dutch first flight cover ignites your interest in Dutch first flights, there is a great catalog for them that you should try to obtain for yourself. Naturally it is written in Dutch but if you do not speak Dutch you can simply use any online translator app, and that combined with the great illustrations in it you can find this catalog to be it very useful. The title is "De Ontwikkeling Van De Trans-Atlantische Luchtpostverbindingen" by F.J. van Beveren. My copy was one of 500 hardcover copies published in 1982. I do not know if there are any more recent editions.
