George and I grew up together in London and often went stamp shopping together early in our hobby exploits when there were still plenty of brick-and-mortar stamp dealers around. After I moved back to the States in 1973, we lost contact with one another, but I have followed his philatelic career over the years. In spite of this, this news still hit me in the gut pretty hard...another childhood memory now archived. A cert I have with his name on it (as the requester) just took on a special meaning.
He began his career working for H. E, Harris in the mid-1970's, and over the years, served as a VP for several of the large US auction houses. Some of you may recognize his name...many won't, but I felt this was worth posting. RIP.
