I recently sold many lots to different buyers;some with multiple purchases over 3 weeks from Chilian buyers starting from November. in the recent 2-3 weeks
I have received multiple messages stating they have not received their lots.
One buyer has bought over 5 lots spanning from November through December. They were all sent by standard mail delivery. The lots in question range from 15$ to 70$
Someting is very wrong with postal services in Chile. I know that mail to Chile transits mostly from Spain. (I am in in France).Could be mail is stolen in Spain or in the postal system in Chile. One buyer said that he had not received many lots from other sellers for the last few months.
I have sent a couple of items to Chile by registerd mail a month ago; they are still stuck in transit somewhere.
So to make a long story short: Beware of selling anything to Chile.

That's frustrating for sure. After a few bad outcomes many many years ago, I ended up just blocking all of South America. The loss of a few sales outweighs the frustration of much higher rates of lost mail for me.

Chili's postal service is ranked 72nd by the UPU when it comes to overall performance with 1 being the best (Switzerland) and 173 being the worst (Tuvalu). Chili Post is also hemorrhaging Peso's, losing hundreds of millions in just the first half of 2025.

If I had known I would of refused buyers from Chile 2 month ago.Now it's too late and will have to bear with that.
I havn't had any problems with Brazil though.

I used to sell stuff all over South America pre-covid and even a bit after covid - don't recall any missing items. Chile, Brazil etc. Then it all just ceased completely and never returned. Oh well

After reading Paul Theroux book "The Happy Isles of Oceania: Paddling the Pacific" I can understand Tuvalu being on the bottom of the post office list.
