This is the Ohio Hospital for Epileptics. It was the first Epilepsy colony in America, opening in 1893. It closed in 1976. The dining hall pictured here was a Union Hospital during the Civil War. The number 5 was inserted in the time slot of the Postmark upside down.

A new Victrola was probably very exciting for the new owners. I once owned some very early records made of shellac, nearly ¼ inch thick and only recorded on one side. I imagine people were very excited about this new technology.
