Help With 1887 Great Britain Sg208 (Sc119) 6-D Paper

Hey everyone. I have this 208 that doesn't appear to be on colored paper. Was there a particular print run for this denomination that didn't exist on colored paper, or can the color just get washed out over time?

Looks like the ink has bled into the paper around the design.
I have a 242 with a strange color which has a similar occurrence. Maybe it's from heavy washing?

Your 5d Edward VII shows some bleeding into the value tablet. It has nothing to do with the 6d Queen Victoria "Jubilee."

The Inland Revenue required the head of the Queen Victoria stamps to be printed in a fugitive ink. A few values that saw frequent use for revenue purposes were printed on coloured papers. It would be strange to see the head (almost) unaffected by soaking, when the paper colour is fully dissolved.

You educated me in the past about the differences of washed-out colors from fugitive inks, but rather than being washed-out or dulled down (ones I have plenty of), the colors for the two above, which are at the top of this new image, seem to be enhanced.. Kind of "electric".

If all the color from the "colored paper" can be reduced to white due to water damage, I can't imagine the design color would look as vibrant as it does here.

I am surprised to see the completely white stamp paper (although you still see some of the pink in the value tablet and the ribbon above that), without the ink having been washed away. That suggests a chemical was used.

Note that the printing in the two examples I posted is very solid. Your stamp shows many whitish dots. That suggests the printing has been degraded.

As for the King Edward VII stamp, that comes in a wide range of colours. De La Rue's colours were (dull) purple. However, the date of 1911 should be checked as it could be after the Stamp Printing Branch of the Inland Revenue performed the provisional printings in reddish purples and plums.
