Got about $700 worth of stamps we ordered from a dealer. Honestly, not happy with this. They just stuck all of the stamps on cards, no indication of Scott #s, mixed countries and now we have to go through and identify all of the stamps just to make sure we received them all and at the moment, it looks like we didn't.

Probably will never do business with this dealer again. They didn't used to be like this.

Today I received (gracious gift from @ray.mac) a full set of U.S. pages from what I assume to be one of the early 2 post hole versions of the Scott International Part I. These pages will fill a gap in one of my 1947 edition albums where I don't have any U.S. pages at all. The other album only has the U.S. pages through the Official stamps. These newly acquired pages give me a full picture of what was in the U.S. section. There are 525 spaces that I was missing! What is interesting is that the general issue section for these newly acquired pages end at Scott #902 which is where the Scott Classic Catalogue 1840-1940 ends. My 1947 edition album for which I have some of the pages has a space for #903. Must have been multiple printings of this album (in the 1940s) with slight editorial changes.

A Postcrossing card arrived from Germany with a nice Queen Elizabeth stamp, BUT also a label slapped over it!

Part of me thinks peeling it off will work out fine
Part of me thinks peeling it off will ruin the stamp

THOUGHTS????

The other day we got back from a brief visit to the Czech Republic for a family wedding and in the letterbox was an envelope containing one of the first airmail stamps and two minisheets from Switzerland.

I'd bought them earlier in the year from a Hipstamp seller I've bought quite a few things from. I've always found him very good to deal with, very clean items at sensible prices. These were an absolute steal, but represented quite a bit of investment for me - most of my stamps are more in the few pence area - and when after a couple of months they hadn't appeared I was very disappointed. The dealer was upset too but reimbursed me without any demur.

When they appeared the postmark showed he'd posted them on 19th February. I have no idea where the letter had spent all this time it was clean and uncreased. It certainly didn't look as though it had been kicking around in some forgotten corner. It appeared four months late! Now all I have to do is get the money back to the dealer
