I'm an officer in a national hobby organization that bridges other hobbies such as stamps, paper money and ephemera. As we look at show schedules and decide where to have a presence, there always seems to be a dearth of major stamp shows from about mid-Sept. until Florex in December. This is also true for coin shows.

Why the gap? Is this a traditional lull period? I would think that shows in the South or Southwest would do well during this period.

Thoughts?

Greg, what's the name of this organization? IMO, stamps + paper money + ephemera shows are *the* future.

There are several WSP shows within the timeframe you mentioned. Go to https://stamps.org/events/events-calendar and then do a web page text search for "WSP".

ChicagoPex in November of each year is a major show. Curious as to how you reached your conclusion that there is a "dearth" of major shows in the Fall

From September to December in the Southeast there are two events that create challenges, hurricanes and college football.

In the Southwest, organizers book shows in the high season, when it's cold everywhere else.

There are a fairly robust set of shows that occur around the U.S. in that period of time (see the show calendar link above).

Ehh? Two of the largest shows I attend are in the fall: Indypex (September) and more importantly Chicagopex (November).
