Here's some Cinderellas I just created of what a re-visit to the US Transportation series might look like with updated modes of transport. Lots of fun making these! I plan on using them for mail decoration.

Very cool and fun. Unlike all your other designations, JET SKI and SEGWAY are registered trademarks and have never been ruled generic, but I realize that fitting in the corresponding generic terms would be difficult—Personal Watercraft and Personal Transporter. |

Quote: I plan on using them for mail decoration. Fun and attractive at first glance. However when they say "USA" and have a number nearby often with a "c" notation to represent a possible postal face value ... let us know how your conversation goes with the postal inspectors. I would recommend going in a different direction. |

Yes, those descriptions would definitely be awkwardly long. :-) |

I put them on the rear with my custom cancel. I've been using reproductions of classic stamps on envelopes for years, both straight copies or Cinderella edits, but I never put them in the upper right. Haven't had any issues. |

Quote: but I never put them in the upper right. Legitimate postage may be applied in any position/place. The upper right merely speeds automation. Good luck. |

I do agree it is a sketchy area, but if the postal inspectors spend any time with this (labels placed on the reverse of the envelope and "cancelled"), instead of tracking down buyers and sellers of actual counterfeit postage, I would be very disappointed. (Though not surprised). |

Really. I must see 15-20 online ads a day for counterfeit US stamps. They must be losing many millions of dollars a year. I'll report ads (to FB and ebay) occasionally, but why bother when they won't do a thing. |

As long as it has enough real postage, the extra "enhancements to the cover may fly. |

Quote: As long as it has enough real postage, the extra "enhancements to the cover may fly. Agree. I embellish the front of outgoing mail with state bedding stamps and battleships all the time. As long as USPS gets what they are after in postage, nobody cares about the rest, and certainly not the computer. Edit - great effort by the way!!!!!! Love to see a military vehicles series too, like the Gama Goat or Deuce and a Half, and a slew of the Dodge WC series for example. |
