It is not the amount of stamps or the value that I am most proud of .it is something that I was told about by a whole group of fellow stamp collectors said to me at the age of 16 at a stamp club meeting in Chicago in 1965 . That my album of worldwide stamps at two cent stamps each , were well organized and looked nice .That was the spark that kept me going . |

Over the years both at the stamp clubs in and around Chicago in the 1960's and 1970's and then later at the ebay stamp chat board 1999 to 2008 ,then even now on the Stamp Community Chat Board ,we have people posting better stamps and a wider varitity of stamps . That SOMEDAY they hope to mount and will show their stuff . SOMEDAY they will mount their collection on pages or stock pages . But not now but they will show a better written up collection SOMEDAY . I seen hundreds of these "collection and works in progress" but they sold or died and SOMEDAY never came for them . I also purchased many of them at auction collections with recent purchases between the album pages or large brown evevelops filled with new material that never got mount but SOMEDAY it would . It is safe to say SOMEDAY has killed a lot of many stamp collectors dreams and efforts because SOMEDAY never comes . SOMEDAY never comes because they are still gathering stamps or more research material , then cannot decide on how to write it up and mount the stuff they have . Can 't decide the color of the page the size of the page and which binder to use ,but know SOMEDAY it will all be perfect . |

I will admit to being one of the SOMEDAY group.
About a month ago I decided to 'Just Do It' and 'Get 'er Done'. It's slow but working.
Things are starting to look presentable. (I also have come across many stamps that I forgot I have.)
And finally - if I don't like the way something was done, SOMEDAY I can go back and fix it. |

floortrader,
Some nice pages recently. Thank you for sharing them.
The stamps/sets you put into the red boxes, are those for eventual sale, waiting to be mounted, or some other purpose?

Interesting question Dale . I never gave it much though ,maybe was thinking that I would save those so someday become a stamp dealer . The idea also was if I run into hard times then would be able to have a inventory to sell . Problem with those ideas ,was I never got to the point of saying a need to sell stamps or that I need the source of money . So for 60 years I been building up the red boxes .
I like many collectors just enjoy working on stamps . Even now being retired I still buy stamps and enjoy my time sorting and building the collection .Those red boxes continue to be filled up at the rate of 8 boxes every two years . I posted here before I can fill 8 boxes every two years and then take a month to sort and index it to Scott catalog . Eight is sort of a limit to what I can sort in a month , then after two years start anothe series . |

Just to update everybody .
We are half way thru 2026 and there has been no full boxes of Dennison Stamp Hinges offered for sale at any auction firm . This follows the first full year 2025 with no boxes up for that year ,while every year in the past 10 years someone had a box up for sale . I was hoping even a full box of FOLD-O-HINGE would show up but none was listed for the past 1 1/2 year nothing .
Talk about where good hinge prices go from here . |

Building that 330,000 collection isn't done with Zepp's and classic stamps it goes down to a lot of boring pages . Matter in fact thousands of boring pages . |

Given the insane prices of those vintage hinges, I'd guess any remaining intact boxes would be getting broken open to sell individually.
