elitists. a person having, thought to have, or professing superior intellect or talent, power, wealth, or membership in the upper echelons of society.

The kind of people who were making decisions about country names in stamp albums and catalogs in the 1860's-1880's, or overprints on stamps during the Spanish-American War.

Being elite does not make you elite. Feeling smug/superior about your elite status does.

The indigenous people called the lands south of the Atacama Desert Chili. Chile did not become an official Spanish designation for the area until 30 July 1824.

Heh, sometimes I wish we all had to use our full names here as they do over on Frajola's board... might keep the sandbox spats to a minimum!

But yes, I agree that as with anything these days, USPS is a mixed bag. Most of the time my mail delivery is great, but every now and then someone else takes over the route and it's a mess - delivered to a neighboring building, wrong mailboxes, etc. Happens just often enough to worry about getting a valuable piece of mail sent to me: will it end up somewhere else?
