Good morning, another missed cover yesterday and three for today.

Missed this Garberville cover yesterday,

Fort Bragg, ex W. Tatham (?)

Quote:
Fort Bragg, this is FB's first known postmark. Fort Bragg was opened three times, Feb 15,1858 to Jul 30, 1858, No postmarks known Jan 15,1861 to Jun 9, 1862, No postmarks known and Nov 11,1885 and is still open.

I posted an earlier strike of this CDS (Men-1250) on Feb 15, 2026, but did not post the usage dates.

California Town Postmarks 1850 - 1935 records those dates as Dec 8, 1886 to Jul 19,1887.

Point Arena,

and Fort Bragg.

Good morning, eight for today!

Scotia, this probably looks familiar as I showed another very similar cover 3 days ago.

Frank,

Christine, a 1905 postal card with no other message than the pleasant though amateur watercolor. Of course, both sides.

Duffey,

Loleta,

Hopland, Rainrainbow, the next 3 cards may be a bit difficult to read.

Eureka pc, with a 1921 "Save the Redwoods" slogan cancel,

and the oddly abbreviated Eureka & San Fra. RPO.

Edit to add message.

littleriverphil - I am always up for those challenging post cards

1897 - Kingstown, St. Vincent to Nymphenberg, Bavaria

A redirected registered letter. The addressee was a stamp dealer and is well documented. Otto Bickel was honored by San Marino in 1997 with a stamp as a part of the set of 4 stamps for the 120th Anniversary of the first San Marino Stamp (S.G.1618-21).

1899 - Kingstown, St. Vincent to Ballineen, Cork, Ireland

A registered cover with a colorful selection of Victorian stamps.
In 1902, the addressee died by what was thought to be an accident. However, the coroner determined William Bell was murdered. He was decapitated. His sexton, the caretaker at the Kilmeen Rectory suspected his wife was having an affair with the good reverend. The case remains one of West Cork's infamous crime stories.

1954 - Agboville, Ivory Coast, French West Africa to Chicago, Il., USA

An insufficiently prepaid letter to the magic supply company, De Laurence. ImageSleuth helped with determining the year date and the town name. The commerative stamp of French West Africa was issued in 1953.
