Any Idea What This Is?

Received this in a collection. I have no idea what it is. Any help is appreciated. It has 149L1 in pencil on the back. I am guessing it is some kind of counterfeit or repro.

It's listed in the locals section of the catalog. It might well be a counterfeit, but it has to be looked up in the Lyons catalog of fakes and forgeries. Perhaps someone here can do so.

Thank you for the reply. I did find it in the Local stamps section.
With a catalog value of $750.00, I could not get that lucky. Therefore I believe it is fake.
That being said, can anyone with better knowledge than me confirm if it fake or real.

Incidentally, printed in 1844, this is the first postage stamp from anywhere in the world that features a train.

You're gonna have to post a much better photograph to have any luck getting anyone to comment on its authenticity. On the plus side, the "X" pen cancel is typical of genuine copies. Most fakes and reprints are unused. That doesn't mean it is genuine of course, but it makes it worth further study.

This is the best scan I can get. Yes the stamp is exactly as you see it in the picture being blurry which is one of the reasons I believe it is not real.

If it looks just like that in person it's a cutout from a catalog.
