Rturn 22 ----- I like being able to move around thru the years going into different subjects . Going thru different subjects like collecting forgeries , working in Cinderella stamps , buying up British Colonies and now working on complete sets on album pages .

The list of subjects never ends .

Just got a few books about famous collectors of the past . Started reading the book about the AVERY COLLECTION .
Starting to think these guys were hoarders, investors, speculators and had a lot of extra money to play with .

"SOMEDAY " ---- I meet a older guy who has a stamp collection . We got to talking stamps .

I asked him to tell me about his collection .

This is what I heard ,SOMEDAY he is going to organize it better , SOMEDAY he is going to soak the stamps off paper . SOMEDAY he is going to sort out all the duplicates , SOMEDAY he is going to mount all his stamps . SOMEDAY he is going to buy the latest catalog to see what they are worth .
He asked me to come over and tell him what it is all worth . I told him sure SOMEDAY ,but not this week because I DID work until late last night on my French stamps and plan to work later on Honk Kong stamps tonight . I DID buy new paper to print pages and I DID make plans to spend the weekend on them .

Told him to come on the STAMP COMMUNITY CHAT BOARD because he will find a lot of other SOMEDAY stamp collectors .

Lots of discussions about building a large collection but what is left out is time frame or as I like to say playing the long game . You have to think in two clear paths first the time frame of 40 or 50 years and second is having a method and organiztion that will stand up for years .

The goal of my stamp collection is to have something different .
Having something different isn't having more pages or more complete sets but it is having material other collectors don't have in their collection . That can be done different ways .
It is to have 10,000 or 20,000 odd ball things or stuff that makes the collection
worth spending time with to see what surprise is there with the turning of the next page .

Stuff like this .

Noticed over the last few months ,there has been a reduce amount of worldwide stamp collections as single lots [these are A-Z albums ] coming up for auction at the 4 or 5 major stamp auction firms .
