Floortrader, thanks for the kind remarks. Means a lot coming from someone who has handled as many stamps and collections as you have.
There's obviously more work to do there. Which is why I'm here. To let everyone know I'm still chugging away on Germany. In doing so I uncovered a bit more Memel but have not checked yet to see if it filled those holes.
I also realized that my Germany in Scott specialized is missing a lot of the pages for States / possessions. As if someone took out the pages that they didn't have stamps for or the place I got it from sold certain things before letting the rest go.
However that cookie crumbled I'm left with gaps in coverage. This morning I attempted to score a states collection but couldn't justify the price considering I had a lot of the stamps already. For now I'll just load the States up on stock sheets and move on. |

Sorting, organizing and integrating yet another auction lot. I had all but gotten away from box lots but I can say with enthusiasm that I am glad I got this one. Well the box and a couple smaller targeted but yet somewhat mixed lots to fill up the box.
Then to step away from that briefly tonight, I worked on DDR and put some German semi postal MNH sets in 102 cards. |

All my Germany DDR mounted, inventoried, and scanned. Time to go to mixture and chose another country. I want to experiment with making my own pages for Hungary so I can get more stamps per page. I may even try 2 sided. |

I have been working on my 19th century worldwide collection, sorting and mounting. I was deep into Greece, got past the early Paris printings, but broke down on the Athens, and had to take a break as having mental breakdown classifying Hermes heads. Sometimes I think it is better to move on and go back when you are stuck. So I jumped to Wurt, then started Baden But color sub-classifications started to drive me NUTS. So I need a break I am all over the map here I need to focus |

Expanded my collection a little this weekend. Recently decided to add U.S. Territories and Administered areas. Received a new Lighthouse Grande binder on Friday, designed and printed pages for the Danish West Indies on Saturday, mounted 33 stamps that had been patiently waiting for their pages on Sunday. It was a good weekend! |

Attended NOJEX on Friday for the first time. The show was roughly an hour drive south and I arrived around 10:15. Parking was free, entry fee was $5 but included all 3 days of the show. I didn't really have any large purchases planned, was just looking forward to the entertainment value and to see if there were any bargains to be had. In general the customer base at that time was my age (mid 50's) or older. Did see a couple of kids and a few younger adults but assume most people were in school or working. I spent most of my time looking thru Italy, Germany boxes and digging thru some of the bargain bins and boxes. Two dealers had 50c item boxes, pulled around 40 items out of those, space mini sheets, some Europa, stamps on stamps, and also found some SAAR I needed. One dealer in the back far corner had 70% face loose stamps and blocks, grabbed a few plate blocks and Mr. Zip blocks there. He also had 25c and 50c cover boxes. Picked out 32, mostly stamped envelopes, for 25c. They were in great shape, couldn't resist the good deal. Overall I spent 4 hours at the show. Was getting hungry and figured I'd beat the traffic north thru Paramus so left by 2:30pm. I had planned to come back one of the days over the weekend but it never panned out. I also didn't allot any time to look thru the exhibits. Overall had a good time, everyone I ran into was friendly, looking forward to attending next year. |

Rgstamp,
Nice work! I'm a firm believer in taking a break, be it short, long or whatever. Around the time I joined the forum I had been working on a GB for 4 to 6 months. I had put everything in its place to inclide include moving to different albums. For whatever reason I'd saved Machins for last and once I got started on that it was like you said having a breakdown. So I put it away for the near term, it'll probably be a year or so before I circle back to it.
I just finished up the last of Germany today with the balance being DDR. Had to push the reset button on my stamp room and clean up a little.
Otherwise, I've been integrating my recent auction stuff into my process and trimming all the on paper stuff for potential/eventual soaking. |
